What you will do

• Design and architect reasoning and decision-capable AI agent systems for automotive applications.
• Integrate LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques into engineering workflows.
• Develop frameworks for agent autonomy, verification, and explainability in technical domains.
• Apply agentic systems to real-world powertrain and vehicle systems development.
• Collaborate with international academic partners on AI explainability and transparency research.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (completed by August 2026).
• Eligibility for admission to a doctoral program.
• Foundational knowledge in LLMs, AI agents, machine learning, and software architecture.
• Experience in software development with Python and SQL.
• English: B2 or higher required.
• Must be based in or able to work from Graz, Austria.

Nice to have

• Skills in Rust or comparable systems-level programming languages.
