TL;DR
Sr. Graphic Designer (Merchandising): Designing and developing merchandise and event-specific products for SpaceX with an accent on apparel, mission patches, and curated tech items. Focus on managing the full product design lifecycle from initial concept to production hand-off while maintaining brand identity and meeting strict release deadlines.
Location: Must be based in Hawthorne, CA (Onsite)
Salary: $115,000 - $150,000 per year

What you will do
- Collaborate with the merchandise team to design new products based on company milestones.
- Create customer gifting items, including mission patches, signing gifts, and event-specific products.
- Manage the end-to-end product design process from initial concept to production hand-off.
- Develop and maintain tech packs, fit charts, color standards, and fabric specifications.
- Produce graphics, typography, and layouts for social, web, and print media.
- Act as a key stakeholder in developing and maintaining the brand’s identity through merchandising.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for ITAR authorization.
- Bachelor’s degree in design or an artistic field.
- 5+ years of professional design experience in illustration, graphic design, or print production.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- 8+ years of experience in product, graphic, and merchandise design.
- Exceptional design aesthetic with experience in fashion or apparel brands.
- Experience retouching images for both digital and print.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
