Location: On site in Ipswich, London, Cheltenham or Manchester (Mon–Fri, 37.5 hours)

What you will do

• Lead the design, build, and ongoing evolution of a next-generation private cloud on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9).
• Drive automation-first infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell).
• Solve complex platform challenges across compute, storage, and networking.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and operations teams to deliver end-to-end services.
• Enhance platform security, resilience, and performance at scale.

Requirements

• Infrastructure architecture/design experience and strong IT infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience with data centre infrastructure and continuous integration/continuous deployment automation & orchestration.
• Programming/scripting experience.
• Ability to lead the full lifecycle (design, build, commissioning, live operations) of complex engineering/infrastructure systems.
• Experience in high-availability, mission-critical environments where resilience, uptime, and security are non-negotiable.
• DV Security Clearance required; must have lived in the UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.

Nice to have

• Networking, security, and identity management experience.
• Experience in regulated or customer-critical environments.
• Leadership or mentoring experience.
