What you will do

• Build scalable backend systems and platforms to ingest, process and distribute inventory across the platform.
• Develop systems supporting supplier connectivity, pricing, and availability freshness.
• Optimize cache and search distribution for AWS-hosted high-performance databases containing billions of items.
• Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and commercial teams to deliver reliable, high-impact solutions.
• Ensure operational excellence, observability, and resilience of production systems.

Requirements

• Experience building scalable backend systems and distributed services in high-throughput environments.
• Proficiency in designing and operating cloud-native platforms.
• Hands-on experience with .NET, C#, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of messaging infrastructure, streaming technologies, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience working with APIs and external supplier integrations.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid from the Manchester office (minimum one day every two weeks).

Nice to have

• Interest in AI assisted engineering and agentic coding workflows.
• Experience with modern developer tooling.
