What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Localization Specialists through regular feedback, performance conversations, and data-driven quality improvements.
• Manage and scale an external freelancer network, owning the full lifecycle from sourcing and onboarding to offboarding.
• Translate business goals into localization execution plans, acting as the bridge between Localization Specialists and Project Managers.
• Take ownership of complex localization challenges, including new market launches and AI-human review models.
• Identify recurring quality and delivery issues, uncover root causes, and implement sustainable process improvements.
• Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI and localization technologies to improve quality, efficiency, and outcomes across all markets.

Requirements

• 5+ years in localization, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing in-house linguists.
• Hands-on background as a translator, editor, or proofreader.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating freelancers or external contributors across multiple markets.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret quality scores, OKR trends, and delivery data.
• Proficiency with core localization tooling: CAT tools, project management systems, and AI platforms (Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude).

Nice to have

• Experience with AI search readiness, including structured data, entity optimization, or AI crawler monitoring.
• Familiarity with SEO tools such as SurferSEO or Accuranker.
• Background working in high-growth, multi-locale product companies.
