What you will do
- Design and maintain production-ready backend services and APIs to expose data and algorithms to internal users.
- Collaborate with scientists and data engineers to translate domain problems into robust software solutions.
- Build and optimize large-scale batch compute jobs for numerically intensive scientific workloads.
- Develop platforms for integrating algorithms, digital twins, and AI tools into breeding pipelines.
- Advance engineering practices as the team scales its AI capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with compiled languages such as C++ or Rust.
- Experience with Linux, Docker, and AWS cloud services.
- Proven track record with large-scale batch computing and scientific libraries.
- Must have valid US work authorization (no visa sponsorship provided).
Nice to have
- Full-stack development experience.
- Experience with Terraform.
- Familiarity with LLM integration and RAG pipelines.
- Background in genetics, agriculture, or scientific computing.
