Company
An aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for sustainable air mobility.
What you will do
- Architect and design physics-based sensor models for eVTOL aircraft across various fidelity levels.
- Own the full development lifecycle of sensor models including architecture, implementation, testing, and lab integration.
- Develop models for aviation-grade sensors such as IMU, GNSS, INS, air data systems, and radar altimeters using Simulink.
- Analyze and interpret data from simulation and flight testing to characterize real-world sensor performance.
- Collaborate with state estimation, control law, and simulation engineers to ensure effective simulation testing.
- Build tools and processes to improve simulation performance and maintainability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and testing of simulation models for physical systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Simulink for large-scale modeling, simulation, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) integration.
- Deep technical experience with a variety of aerospace sensors.
- Must have US work authorization; the company is unable to provide work visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience modeling physical systems such as aerodynamics, actuation, or powertrain.
- Experience with HIL environments like NI Veristand or dSpace.
- Experience designing or verifying state estimation algorithms or control laws.
- Previous experience with flight control sensors for eVTOLs, helicopters, or fixed-wing airplanes.
- Knowledge of aerospace data buses and communication protocols.
Culture & Benefits
- Fully remote work arrangement with occasional travel (~10%).
- Dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces diversity.
- Opportunity to solve hard problems in the field of sustainable air mobility.
