What you will do

• Build and execute the strategy for political and community engagement across southwestern cities.
• Develop and manage relationships with local officials, regulators, and key external stakeholders.
• Track political activity and policy developments to inform company strategy.
• Represent the company at community and political events.
• Manage locally-based political consultants and coordinate with internal Legal, Communications, and Safety teams.
• Research legislation and develop briefings for the broader policy team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of public policy experience in government, nonprofits, or industry associations.
• Extensive political and community network within the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
• Proven track record of implementing complex government affairs initiatives.
• Specialized experience in transportation policy or urban planning practices.
• Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and project management capabilities.

Nice to have

• Established relationships with state and federal officials in Southern California.
• Experience operating in other major Southwestern cities and states.
• Background in managing external consultants or small, high-impact teams.
• Familiarity with autonomous vehicle policy or micro-mobility.
• Advanced degree such as a J.D., MBA, MPP, or MPA.
• Fluency in culturally relevant languages.
