Prototyping Lab Technician (Robotics)

TL;DR

Prototyping Lab Technician (Robotics): Developing, building, and testing robotic systems and prototype hardware with an accent on electromechanical assembly and rapid iteration. Focus on fabricating fixtures, troubleshooting electrical systems, and executing hardware experiments to accelerate AGI-level robotics development.

Location: In-person 5 days a week in San Francisco, CA

Salary: $225K – $295K + Equity

What you will do

• Build, modify, troubleshoot, and repair robotic systems and electromechanical assemblies across structural, electrical, sensing, and actuation subsystems.
• Design and fabricate fixtures, adapters, and test equipment to accelerate prototype development.
• Execute low-volume builds, engineering changes, and rework for mechanical assemblies and custom electronics.
• Develop and support hardware experiments in close partnership with engineers and researchers.
• Maintain lab equipment, tooling, inventory, and overall workspace efficiency.
• Refine build processes to improve quality, repeatability, and documentation.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience working with complex electromechanical or robotic systems.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems using common electronic test equipment.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience building and debugging wire harnesses and custom electronics.
• Comfort working with the Linux command line.
• Must be based in San Francisco, CA, and work in-person 5 days a week.
