What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of technicians in the installation, maintenance, and optimization of fiber optic infrastructure.
• Manage all phases of data center fiber projects from initial planning through execution and final handover.
• Perform complex fiber splicing, troubleshooting, and signal strength monitoring to ensure network reliability.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintain detailed system records, documentation, and designs.
• Provide technical training and quality assurance oversight for all fiber-related deployments.
• Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements

• 4+ years of direct data center experience installing and routing optical fiber in large-scale Tier 3 or 4 facilities.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring fiber optic technical teams.
• Ability to work in tight quarters, lift up to 35lbs, and work at heights up to 50 feet.
• Schedule flexibility including the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as FOA or BICSI.
• Extensive experience with OTDR testing and hyperscale/AI data center environments.
• Deep knowledge of structured cabling and various fiber types (single-mode, multi-mode).
