Senior Claims Examiner

What you will do

• Analyze coverage and communicate coverage positions; confirm coverage by reviewing policies and submitted claim documents.
• Conduct, coordinate, and direct investigations into loss facts and extent of damages.
• Evaluate coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of insured exposure; perform quantum analysis.
• Negotiate and settle claims, typically in litigation either directly or indirectly; prepare coverage position letters and reports.
• Direct and monitor assignments to experts and outside counsel; manage vendors and litigation to achieve cost-effective, timely closure.
• Provide timely service across the claim lifecycle, meet service level agreements, set reserves within authority, and present at roundtables for cases going to trial.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of claims handling experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Successful completion of 3 years as a Claims Examiner.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organization and time management skills; ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice to have

• Claims adjuster license (must have or be eligible to receive).
• Industry designations such as INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, or CPCU; or participation in industry training (e.g., CLM Claim College, Munich Re Training, FDCC).

Salary: $78,000–$107,250 base with up to 15% bonus potential
