TL;DR

User Researcher (AI): Conducting end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research to improve AI-powered workspace experiences with an accent on human-AI workflows and agentic automation. Focus on translating complex AI model behaviors into actionable product insights and optimizing user journeys.

Location: Must be based in San Francisco or New York City (Hybrid: Office attendance required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays)

Salary: $164,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

  • Design and execute end-to-end quant and qual research across the AI product lifecycle, from discovery to post-ship evaluation.
  • Evaluate human-AI workflows, focusing on how users set goals, delegate tasks, and review AI-generated outputs.
  • Partner with Design, Product, Engineering, and Data Science to integrate research into the development process.
  • Communicate insights through tailored storytelling, including videos, podcasts, and workshops.
  • Connect research findings to business outcomes to drive tangible product changes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience in UX research.
  • Fluency in AI products and an understanding of how model behavior and system constraints shape UX.
  • Expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Ability to use behavioral and business data to sharpen research questions and interpret results.
  • Must be based in San Francisco or New York City.

Nice to have

  • Experience researching AI-enabled (especially agentic/workflow automation) and B2B products.
  • Proficiency with AI research tools such as Outset, Listen Labs, or Dovetail.
  • Experience communicating research findings to executive stakeholders.
  • Master’s or PhD in HCI, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, or a related field.
