Zoox is developing a ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the ecosystem required to bring next-generation mobility-as-a-service to urban environments.

What you will do

• Design and build robust embedded applications and web microservices for configuration and runtime settings.
• Develop startup-time and runtime auditing/control systems for software and hardware.
• Own service architecture connecting vehicle and cloud for dynamic configuration.
• Drive technical direction and lead large-scale, cross-team projects.
• Collaborate with vehicle software, tools, and operations teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of combined experience in device/edge software and cloud systems architecture.
• Deep experience building and operating cloud-based microservices and infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, or Java, and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with C++ and experience building data pipelines between cloud and edge devices.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to manage complex, cross-cutting architectures.
• Proven track record of steering large-scale projects from concept to deployment.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, autonomy, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity with vehicle environments, maps, GPS, and OTA updates.
