What you will do

• Scale and tune high-throughput MariaDB clusters to support global expansion and new product initiatives.
• Design and validate high-availability, disaster-recovery, and backup procedures.
• Build automation to reduce manual operational work and enable low-friction database workflows.
• Improve observability and alert quality by implementing meaningful metrics and reducing noise.
• Enhance database security through robust access controls and disciplined patching/upgrade practices.
• Implement modern platform initiatives, including containerized environments and infrastructure-as-code.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience operating MariaDB/MySQL in high-volume production environments.
• Strong understanding of high-availability patterns and distributed database behavior.
• Hands-on experience with database proxies like HAProxy, ProxySQL, or MaxScale.
• Practical experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
• Solid fundamentals in Linux, networking, and managing Kubernetes workloads at scale.
• Must be based in Australia or Thailand.

Nice to have

• Experience with SRE methodologies (error budgets, reliability programs).
• Scripting or programming ability in Python or Rust.
• Hands-on experience with GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Interest in cryptocurrency or decentralized systems.
