What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers building the Native Video Engine (NVE).
• Drive strategy and execution for high-performance video rendering across iOS, Android, Web, and Backend.
• Partner with product and platform teams to deliver scalable video capabilities.
• Foster an engineering culture focused on technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Improve engineering quality through performance monitoring, testing, and operational excellence.
• Support career development through coaching, feedback, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Must be based in Sydney and able to work from the campus.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in systems-level, native, or cross-platform environments.
• Strong technical judgment in balancing quality, performance, scalability, and delivery.
• Experience with video creation workflows, rendering, playback, or performance-sensitive media systems.
• Strong communication skills to align stakeholders around technical direction.
• Ability to create clarity in ambiguous technical environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with media pipelines, codecs, or graphics rendering.
• Knowledge of cross-platform build systems like Bazel.
• Familiarity with WASM or React Native.
• Experience with high-scale export/rendering infrastructure.
