Salary: $220K – $405K

What you will do

• Build intelligent products across onboarding, membership management, organization insights, permissions, subscriptions, billing, and usage controls.
• Develop systems that help organizations manage Perplexity at scale, from initial setup through expansion.
• Collaborate with PM, Design, Data Science, and Sales to translate complex governance needs into simple, reliable product experiences.
• Own critical platform primitives end-to-end, from frontend admin flows to backend services and data models.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience (strong junior and mid-level candidates are also considered).
• Backend or Full Stack engineering skills with experience in designing scalable and reliable distributed systems.
• Strong execution skills to take ambiguous product needs and ship durable systems with customer impact.
• Strong product judgment for simplifying complex admin and billing workflows.
• Genuine interest in AI products and willingness to learn quickly.
• Must be based in San Francisco or New York City for a hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience building enterprise SaaS products, admin consoles, RBAC/permissions, or organization management features.
• Experience with subscriptions, billing systems, or usage-based pricing.
• Familiarity with security, compliance, or governance concerns in enterprise products.
• Experience working in a fast-growing startup or high-ownership engineering team.
