What you will do

  • Serve as a top technical expert and last line of defense for troubleshooting OpenAI's API platform.
  • Design and run operational monitoring and alerting workflows to detect customer-impacting issues in real time.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure operational readiness for new features and strategic customer needs.
  • Lead incident response processes including coordination, root cause analysis, and follow-ups.
  • Analyze operational metrics and recommend improvements to monitoring and support workflows.
  • Provide support coverage during holidays and weekends as needed.

Requirements

  • Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Dublin, Ireland
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with strong software engineering foundation.
  • 5+ years experience in technical operations roles such as SRE/NOC with complex troubleshooting skills.
  • Deep knowledge of monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident management best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting or software engineering (e.g., Python) for automation.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
